Akiko Fujita is an Anchor and Reporter with Yahoo Finance. An Emmy-nominated journalist with more than a decade of experience, Akiko has covered some of the biggest stories across the globe. Prior to joining Yahoo Finance, Akiko was an anchor at CNBC International, where she hosted “Squawk Box Asia” out of Hong Kong. In that role, she interviewed some of the top newsmakers in business and politics, including Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda, and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross. Prior to her time at CNBC, Akiko was a Correspondent at ABC News, where she covered news across the Asia Pacific region, including tensions on the Korean Peninsula, and the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster. She is a native of Los Angeles, and speaks fluent Japanese.
