BILGEHAN TUNCER
Originally from Ankara/Turkey, Bilgehan Tuncer has been playing the guitar for more than 30 years. He holds a B.M. in Guitar Performance from the world's most prestigious music college, Berklee College of Music. As a versatile session player, he has performed and recorded with plenty of today’s top acts in styles including classical, jazz, blues, rock, country, folk and flamenco.
Bilgehan started his formal training by studying with the renowned classical guitarist Ahmet Kanneci for six years. In 1997, He won the ZMM & Washburn Guitar Inc. National Guitar Competition in Turkey. In 1998, he won a B.E.S.T. Scholarship from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Since then, Bilgehan has played and recorded with hundreds of professional artists. In 2001, he toured with the Turkish singer Tarkan after playing on his album “Karma.” In 2007. Bilgehan played the guitars for the rock musical "David: The Musical" at Calderwood Pavilion in Boston. He’s also collaborated with Ozlem Tekin, Umit Sayin, Gulhan, Grammy winner Esperanza Spalding, rock acts Stringtheory, Stained Glass Eye, Madison Rising, Dig With Caution, William Topley , Jordan Carp , Scott Damgaard , Sarah Fimm, The Greasy Keys and many more. His guitar playing can also be heard in several commercials for companies like Citibank, Ingbank and OMO, and he’s played on many soundtracks as well. In fact, you’ve probably heard Bilgehan’s playing without knowing it was him. Bilgehan lives in New York City/ New Jersey area where he teaches at his private studio RED PICK MUSIC and plays gigs regularly.
