Cynthia communicates with clients daily regarding their complex tax questions on investment strategies and how those strategies may fit into their long-term goals. Her areas of specialty include taxation of hedge funds, international tax compliance, tax compliance for tax-exempt organizations and ultra-high-net-worth estate succession planning. Cynthia’s background as an attorney, and specifically as an estate planner, makes her a vigilant advisor when it comes to tax issues for high-net-worth individuals considering changes to their business structures and investments. In addition, she is responsible for firmwide tax research pertaining to a broad range of issues that influence alternative investment fund managers and investors. Beginning in 2016, Cynthia became actively engaged in the firm’s Cryptocurrency Group, providing tax consulting to emerging managers. As the cryptocurrency asset class rapidly evolves, she continues to help shape the firm’s tax positions. Cynthia lives in Baltimore City, Maryland, but often spends time in New York City working with clients and networking. Always ready to strike out of her comfort zone, Cynthia loves to travel the world. Her goal is to set foot on each continent before she retires someday.
