Samantha Thiel is a Director of Innovation in CPP Investments’ Alpha Generation Lab. In this role, she works to research, incubate and test new investment strategies and alpha-generating capabilities across asset classes. She is also responsible for cultivating an innovation ecosystem and developing partnerships to enhance the Fund’s strategic priorities. Over the last two years, she has led on a variety of projects spanning privacy-enhancing technologies and collaborative machine learning, alternative data from non-traditional sources, digital asset strategies and more. Prior to joining CPP Investments, Samantha worked at an early-stage SaaS start-up, and in management consulting for McKinsey, where she focused on developing organizational culture and on the retail and consumer industries.  She holds a B.A in Public Policy & International Affairs from Princeton University, and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
