Vidak Radonjic
Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and raised in Croatia, Montenegro, Italy, and England, Vidak Radonjic began studying Classical Guitar at the age of six and immediately fell in love with the instrument. One of his performances can be viewed here. After mastering some of the more demanding guitar repertoire, Vidak gave his first public concert in London during high school both as a guitarist and vocalist followed by many more appearances including stage acting. Vidak's fascination for the speed and rhythm of flamenco guitar influenced him to pursue the more passionate and fiery side of his musical temperament. Finding the solo nature of the classical guitar somehow limiting, he found inspiration and musical expansion in the works of avant-guard performers, especially Paco De Lucia, the legendary Flamenco guitarist.
Vidak has created and directed a number of short films and music videos and produced live entertainment shows. Being on the stage and sharing an experience with the audience energizes and enlightens him. Together with very talented musicians (guitarists, David Galvez of Peru, Bilgehan Tuncer of Turkey, Darko Nikcevic and Srdjan Bulatovic of Montenegro, the violinist Sooyeon Jun of Korea, the accordionist Petar Maric of Serbia (aka Maestro Maric), and the French/Romanian pianist and films composer Ionel Petroi), Vidak performs at various venues ranging from private clubs such as The Core Club to prominent live music venues such as The Cutting Room and City Winery in New York City and Blue Note in Beijing, China. Besides Classical and Flamenco styles of guitar playing, Vidak also performs in Rock, Blues, Jazz, and Folk styles. His performances are often accompanied by exquisite dancers of diverse styles including flamenco, contemporary, ballet as well as rhythmic gymnasts, aerialists and contortionists.
